Helpful tips

Being customer oriented I want to ensure you get the most from your time. Think about what you want to portray in your portraits, what you like to see in images of yourself and others. I can offer suggestions to help with this but it is up to you to convey your desires. Here are some helpful hints for your consideration:
*****
Clothing - Solid colored clothing is preferred. Colors should coordinate for portraits with more than one person. Avoid clothing with logos or text if possible. If you are unsure, bring along a couple of selections and I can help you choose. Remember when shooting on location, changing areas may not be close at hand. If you want to change, recommend a light tank top with sport shorts underneath your clothes.
*****
Props - Originality is key. I keep very few props on hand. I encourage you to bring things that help define your personality. Sporting equipment, music instruments, pets, friends, hobbies, uniforms, etc. These portraits should explain your personality. This helps accomplish that.

I do take pictures using hands and feet, manicures and pedicures are always a nice spoiling before shots. Yes, guys ... you too ... just enjoy them!
*****
Makeup - The correct use of makeup can enhance your portraits. Use a light cover-up to reduce natural darkness under the eyes and minimize blemishes. Foundation along with a little powder will reduce shine Add an extra touch of blush for color. Extra attention to your eyes and lips will make them look their best and accent your features. Use black mascara and natural colors for eyes and lips, avoid anything frosty and shiny. You may want to bring along facial powder, if shooting outside it will help with the shining.
*****
Hair – Wear your hair the way you normally wear it. Avoid new hair-dos, cuts and colors. For a finished look, have your favorite hairdresser style it for you. Men should please shave or have your beard and mustache neatly trimmed; five o'clock shadow can not be removed on your finished portraits.
*****
Glasses – If you wear glasses bring them with you. I can take portraits both with and without them. Eye glass glare may be able to be removed digitally but it is extremely difficult at times and sometimes impossible to look “unnoticeable.” Certain common head angles can reduce the glare, and I will do my best to ensure this happens. Removing the lenses works the best. Digital Enhancements – While digital corrections can be made please do not rely on them. Some things are very costly to correct.

ツ Arrive Early – Or at least on time. By arriving 15 minutes early, you won't be rushed and neither will I. The paperwork can be done and still have plenty of time for portraits. I want you to have fun, so bring your own music or bring along a friend.
*****
Young children become antsy, recommend you bring a favorite toy, a drink, some snacks. It's okay to give them a break, I even like to take candid shots then, so we will just consider a photo opportunity.

The more relaxed and ready you are, the better your portraits will be.
Have fun - I enjoy what I do and want you to have fun too. Give me a call and set up a time to meet. I will do our very best to make your session memorable.
